Men's Cutting Class At ISSE Long Beach 2013

I was recently invited to teach a class at ISSE in Long Beach. I taught a 3 hour hands on barbering course focusing on the basics of men's haircutting: layering, scissor over comb, clipper over comb, and fading. We started out cutting a longer men's hairstyle worn by Ryan Goslin as featured in the movie "Gangster Squad". We finished up with a 1950's "Pomp" Bruno Mars style. I made 40 new friends who were extremely attentive and did a great job.

I also attended the Hairbrained meetup where I was fortunate enough to meet the founders Gerard and Randy. They are extremely down to earth and it was a pleasure to finally meet them in person. They knew who I was right away and were very encouraging. It was so nice to get some positive feedback. We all need a lttle extra push sometimes to stay motivated and keep up the positve momentum. Thanks to Gerard and Randy for putting together such a great site and giving us members a chance to meet each other and network. Can't wait until next year!
