so this whole experience of opening a business has been eye opening on many many levels. i keep bumping into one thing a lot....people telling me how hard it's going to be for them to do there job. who gives a shit. just do it. it happened again today, this time it's a company printing our cards.

we had the design done by a separate company and just needed the cards printed. we have very specific wants for these cards, but nothing that can't be done. from the beginning the answer to all of our request has been how expensive it will be and how hard it's gonna be. from the colors we need to the type of card stock we want.

i just think about me doing that behind the chair. "yea, well that cut is really hard you know. i think we can get you something easier that will make it almost look like that. i mean if you want that cut i'm gonna have to really work hard." NO. UNACCEPTABLE, RIGHT? we consult. i deliver. i charge them for it. i give them the quality they pay for and never tell them how hard it is. when they walk out with a great look, that's all they want.

i just want the badass business cards and menus i had designed........don't try to sell me cheap if i want to pay for quality. it's not hard to do, your just being lazy. especially in times where people are strapped for money. they will pay for great service and quality work.

we don't need excuses. we don't need gimmicks. we just need to deliver. we need to just do it.

and now we're probably going with another printer. more expensive but more able.

It is the season of "The Full of Shit, Bull shitter, extraordinaire." I have heard it all! Have you had an employee call in with this one yet; "I need a mental health day" left on the answering machine? I like this one; "I can't make it to work because my husband and I were picking up a new sofa and it fell off the truck, and someone picked it up and took it a 4 hour drive away? We have the cushions though..lol

Man that's the attitude I need to have! Not let people tell me what can and can not be done or in my case whether I can or can not work...etc
