This year I am celebrating my 20th year as a hairdresser.I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate then to shake up my existence entirely.I got married, got a drivers license and have decided to leave my position as Artistic Director at Aveda and embark on a new direction.
It is my desire to be instrumental in a "Hairdresser focused" brand, with the genuine potential to make an impact on the "Art and Commerce" of our craft.
For me the choice was clear, my good friend and mentor Nick Arrojo. Nick has staked a claim as the voice of Independent,Visionary hairdressers, driven to move our industry forward and upward.
Over the past decade ,I have witnessed our industry shrink and consolidate to the point where almost all of it is run by a small group of corporations.I truly believe that it is impossible for them to understand hairdressers and what our needs and desires are. With ARROJO I see a completely different picture,an independently owned brand that is "by hairdressers for hairdressers"and dedicated to the craft of hairdressing.
This dedication is expressed through education at every level, from an in-salon training program that I have seen produce some of New York's finest young stylists to cosmetology, advanced education and product development that is at the forefront of our industry.
I have known Nick for nearly 10 years and his wife Lina for nearly 20 (we were apprentices together at Sassoon!)I have no doubt that together we can do great things, and I have a vision of including as many of my like-minded friends and colleagues as possible.the future looks very bright today.
Love your work ,we do!
