- I started dragging my baby dolls out as a lil girl lining them up & doing their hair. I pierced barbies ears w/sewing pins! I entered cosmetology during high school @ votech. 3 months before I was to graduate i dropped out of school all together due to the death of my grandmother. I couldnt emotionally handle this tragic loss. I married had 2 children & divorced. When the kids were older, I went community college. I tried several jobs mostly in the medical field. I had no passion for any of these positions I held. So I started going back in time to what it was I wanted to be when I was a kid & it was a hairstylist. I found a job at an upscale salon that allowed me to be an assistant & work in the field as I once again entered votech. This time I finished in the top of my class! I love doing hair, meeting new people & developing special relationships with the ones that come back! Ive since then have my certification to teach cosmetology. I work in an upscale salon that is always offering the newest thing in the biz. training! I never feel like im going to work. I feel as im playing dress up all day! I love what I do and am always looking for ways to take myself to the next level! Any suggestions?
