- I started cutting hair when I was 12. Basically my hairdresser left me and I was desperate.
I went to beauty school because I wanted to meet girls. I got hooked on the work of hair.
I started in West Covina, then Pasadena, then City of Industry, then Beverly Hills, then Rancho Cucomonga, then Scotland and now Brussels Belgium.
Now I work part time in a salon, I freelance part time and I also hand sharpen scissors and sell good quality scissors with no brand loyalties.
My freelance work takes me to Paris, London, Aix en Provence, Amsterdam and Brussels ofcourse =)
I love hair but the hair industry for me has been a love and hate relationship. I already said I love hair but I hate the non hairdressers who really will say anything to sell anything.
I found that out the hard way when I started to sharpen scissors and distributing them as well as other products. Behind the the scene is an ugly affair. I don't know maybe i'm too sensitive but thats been my experience. I've visited factories and have seen what goes down.
But to end on a happy note. I love what is happening with technology and hair. We are taking back our business from the hands of big companies. We are sharing information and growing rapidly.
I hope to contribute in this business at some point but for now lets have fun with this!
