- Gerd Hoher is the President of artease®colors and seventh generation hairdresser. Gerd has his European Masters in Hairdressing and moved to California in 1977 to open what came to be Carlton Hair International, a chain of 30 salons throughout California. He is a working hairdresser and entrepreneur.
After selling Carlton Hair International, he took the position of National Director of Education for Schwarzkopf while remaining a stylist in his own salon on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica, California. As a Master Colorist himself, Gerd’s desire is to work with the very best color money could buy and decided to develop his own line in order to meet his expectations.
artease®colors has been used in Europe for the past 4 years and was launched in the United States at the ABS show in Chicago in March of 2008. It is an 85 sku demi-permanent and permanent color line with a powder bleach, cream bleach and 4 color bleaches.
Our main difference is the use of Kuppler pigments. Kuppler pigments are 99% unoxidized, thus allowing more of the pigments to oxidize in the cortex of the hair. Kuppler color pigments are color affecting materials in oxydation-coloration. They connect themselves with the developer molecules and thereby add nuance to the color of the pigment. The pigments do not dissolve (like sugar in liquids), but adhere and stretch out, thus adding reflection and depth to the color.
With the Kuppler system, the color is richer and remains richer for a longer period of time. Using artease®colors you will achieve awesome, silky shine each and every time you use it. As time and climate naturally oxidizes the color, the tone, coverage, feel and shine of artease®colors remains with little fading.
