Here are some guidelines I use for the mids and ends:

Deposit Only Color Treatment

If the mid length and ends are missing tone Use: 0N + pure tone (increments for target level)

If the mid length and ends are missing tone and faded 1 level Use: 0N + Natural Level + Pure Tone (increments for target level)

If the mid length and ends are missing tone and has faded 1 1⁄2 to 2 levels Use Natural Level + Pure Tone (increments for target level)

If the mid length and ends are missing more than 2 levels and appears matte/dull Use Full SpectrumTM Permanent Creme hair color (desired level)

I think the Gloss will be a great idea.

Add the tones that are missing.

Before you do the Gloss...Shampoo and do the Botanical moisture treatment. Spray Equalizing solution on the hair and dry. Apply the Deposit Only Color treatment. Process for 20 minutes.

Have your Guest make sure to condition her hair with either of the Color Conserve Masque or the Sun Care Masque the night before she is to come in for her color.
