As an ex-gang banger who’s career started off in the construction world, the last thing Abe Barron ever imagined he’d become was an inspiration in the hairdressing world.
Given an ultimatum by his mother to join the navy or go to beauty school, Abe choose the obvious. After a rough start and discouragement from many including his own instructors he was told “Not to aim so high “ when it came to his aspirations to work with one of the industries leading icons. Proving everyone wrong abe beat the odds, broke all stereotypes, and has since become one of the most successful hairdressers and educators in our industry. His persistence earned him a position next to JOHN PAUL MITCHELL SYSTEMS’ artistic director Robert Cromeans both on and off stage. Abe was one of robert’s first assistants and artistic team member as well as an integral part of designing educational programs and training new talent for a A ROBERT CROMEANS SALON.
His work has been seen in numerous salons, classrooms, schools, videos and on stage internationally for JOHN PAUL MITCHELL SYSTEMS as an educator as well as serving as Artistic Director for UNITE. His credits also include work on fox’s hit television show “SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE“ and the “AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS”.
As a successful hairdresser with a thriving guest list of his own, Abe has opened three salons with over 65 team members. He continues to work behind the chair and educate on stage with his partner Melissa Jaqua , Co-owner of their San Diego based salon, THE WORKSHOP. Talented, full of humor and endlessly inspiring to others, Abe Barron always leaves an unforgettable lasting impression on everyone he meets!
