Anybody Color Locs?

anybody coloring locs? My cousin has locs and she wants them colored I am not scared of color so I will do it, does anybody have any words of wisdom,catuion before I do such. She is a natural level 1b-2 and I plan on taking her up to a 3 red/violet for tone rention. plus I dont know if she will keep up on it like I tell her, any pre treatments I should do before coloring her locs?
