- Our goal is to have the salon owner understand the importance of installing management systems. Installing management systems, in the salon, is not only vital... it's essential. Our area of expertise is the organization and control of hair- colour inventory. Our system adapts to any situation... saving time, money, waste, space and head-aches, which severely affects the bottom-line.
I've been a hairstylist for over 17 years; worked in 11 salons... 2 of them being my own. I've worked amongst mass chaos in every dispensary that I've ever been in... and it's really sad to say... even in my own salons.
Being a business owner, I know what it's like to see 4 of the same colour tubes opened; all the while a stylist is opening up a new one. It's really an unbelievable sight... especially, when you catch yourself doing it as well! After finding myself constantly doing the same thing that I would reprimand everyone else for, I knew that I had to do something about this persistent problem. It wasn't only mass confusion, but it was severely interfering with my bottom-line.
I started to search for something that would accomodate my needs... and found absolutely nothing... not even anything I could retro-fit! So, with a little thought and ingenuity, I sat down with the issue at hand, and voila...
The Colour Organizer was born.
It's a tool that every salon needs! It saves time, money and space. And I'm proud to say, that it brings a little sanity back into the salon.
Joshua Boos was born in Hicksville, Long Island NY 1974 and raised in Floral City, Florida. He had a sense of style starting at a very young age. Looking back, he remembers always being glued to the television-set when beauty make-over’s were being televised. “At that time, Jose Eber was transforming women with just haircuts, colour, make-up and dress. That was it for me’, Boos says, ‘I was hooked!”
At the age of nineteen, he started his formal career in the beauty industry and he hasn’t looked back ever since. He has trained with the best in the beauty industry; working with Matrix as an advisor, received top placement in multiple competitions, owned two salons and has had his work recognized in national magazines, all throughout the sixteen years of his career.
Moxie Salon and Beauty Hub has been his greatest undertaking to date. Moving his wife and two children from Southwest Florida, leaving his large following, to the State of New York took… well… Moxie! Boos says, “Moxie encompasses everything about me, my family, the move, the salon, the client… everything. It‘s not all about the hair. It‘s about changing people‘s perception of themselves; making someone feel good, as well as bringing real facts about the beauty products the clients are using and getting back down to hair and scalp basics.”
Moxie Salon and Beauty Hub proves to be a stand-out salon in the Hudson Valley area. A glimpse of their décor tells you that, but their continued education and their strive for perfection is evident in one sitting. Boos says, “When you’re passionate about your work it shows. When you have true concern about the client, it shows. And when you get a great haircut, it shows!”
