- David is a Master Stylist and has over 28 years experience as a hair stylist.
In 1981, David opened his first salon in Littleton when unincorporated Jefferson County was 3 years away from building Southwest Plaza Mall. He started with a six chair salon and within a few years expanded to twelve chairs. In 1989, David went to work for Michael of the Carlyle. Within one year of working by one of the founders side, Peter Burger, David was promoted to lead educator. In 1992, David moved on to help build a salon of his own in Southwest Plaza Mall. He employed over 16 employees. At this time David was able to further his education. He spent two summers at the Toni and Guy academy at the Denver Design Center. In 1996, David opened David James Hair Studio in the Columbine shopping center at Lowell and Bowles. There he was able to employ five people for over 11 years.
David’s desire to get back into teaching new stylists as well as helping seasoned stylists grow in their techniques and professional careers, prompted him to say yes to Littleton Capitol Partners when they approached him in 2007 about relocating to the new Riverside Downs Shopping Center. DJHS was the third store to open in the center in February 2008.
David attended Bumble and bumble University in NYC in 2007 and was certified as a Network Educator. David has attended Bumble and bumble University four other times in 2008 and continues to be active with ongoing education.
David also collaborates with up and coming photographers, fashion designers, and models, to help create a network of editorial and fashion presence in Littleton, Colorado. It is David’s commitment with this unique opportunity to be the leaders in this industry for many
years to come.
