Crush Studio is owned by Joel Holland and Sylvia Herrera. We are both licensed hairdressers and we specialize in fashion photography. Combining a sense of fashion and creativity, Crush offers an alternative style in photography.
Our creative shoots inspire us to step into a vision for each personality ensuing in a total look sure to bring allure.

Joel Holland
From his humble beginning as a hairdresser’s son on the Las Vegas strip, the span of Joel Holland’s 32 year career as a hairdresser himself has been no less exciting than that of his father’s. As a boy he spent all of his spare time in the salon watching his father do hair for clients like Zsa Zsa Gabor, Lady Bird Johnson, and Wayne Newton to name a few. By the age of 15, Joel had decided to quit public school and begin beauty school. Before his training at renowned Jacques Dessange schools in both Paris and New York, Joel worked for Jaqcues Dessange Houston. But his dedication for hair didn’t stop with the sole idea of standing behind the chair. After picking up a camera some 18 years ago and photographing clients from his private studio in Houston his interest in photography flourished, and Joel has been fortunate to work with artists such as Donna Karen, Emmanuel Ungaro, and Nikki Sixx & Kelly Gray for Royal Underground.
Sylvia Herrera has been in the beauty industry for some 14 years having been a licensed cosmetologist since the age of 17. Her creative style and desire to make others feel beautiful from the inside out soon led her to focus her profession on skin care and makeup which fueled her passion for photography and eventually led her to open up a photography studio with partner Joel Holland where her creativity in makeup and passion for photography have gone hand in hand.
