http://www.sixfigurehairdresser.wordpress.comThe average retail ticket for a stylist is $7. Basically, what that breaks down to is half a product for each client that you see. Or that more than half of your clients are not using professional products. The art of selling retail does not include a brief , “You don’t need anything today do you?”, at the end of the guest’s visit. You’ll find the art of selling retail at the beginning of the dance with your guest. Start the conversation about their hair needs right when the two of you begin interacting. Ask the right questions to find out what concerns they may have about their hair. Is it dry, oily? What shampoo would be best, what conditioner? What kind of lifestyle do they lead? What are their hair goals? Asking all of these questions, then truly listening to them will give you the guidance you need to offer them the ingredients they need to duplicate the look that you gave them at home and will give you the ingredients you need to put the icing on your Six Figure Cake. Educate them on how to use every product that you use on them. Let them know why you are using it. Place the products in their hands as you apply them to their hair, but never be hard selling. Let them that know that you genuinely care about their hair and want them to have the best products available to them. Creating the most flattering looks for your clients and educating them on the products they need to look their best everyday will bond you and your client and allow you to expand your business and your earning potential.
