High Voltage Color

Its been a while since I brought you all an update. I'm sure you've caught wind of the latest trend (using equal parts Extra Lifting Creme, Pure Prigment or Pure Tone, with double 30 or 40 volume color catalyst) but, here are some pictures of a recent model.

Michelle had previous Aveda hair color. Using the standard Aveda Color Melting technique I alternated formula's 2, 3, and 4 diagonally throughout a four panel placement.

Formula 1: (Base Color) 5R (Standard) with equal parts 10 Volume & 20 Volume Color Catalyst

Formula 2: 20g ELC + 10g V Pure Pigment + 10g D V/R + 80mL 40 Volume Color Catalyst

Formula 3: 20g ELC + 20 Red Pure Pigment + 80mL 30 Volume Color Catalyst

Formula 4: 20g Universal ON + 10 D R/O + 10g Red Pure Pigment + 40ml 5 Volume Color Catalyst.

I am new to the AVEDA color line having worked with Paul Mitchell for the last several years. I worked with AVEDA from 2001-2009 but their color has drastically changed since then, and all for the better! Could someone PLEASE refresh me on precoloration formalization. With the new color formulas and other changes I have forgotten the proper way to formulate for this. Please help me, this is such an important part of color formulation!
