I am still in school and this website is helping me soooo much! My hair right now is a level 3 with R/O, i did a gloss on myself in november and i was wondering what the best way possible was to lift me to a level 6 with maybe some Y/O? I attached a photo of what i'm looking for, wouldnt be opposed to being a little lighter. any suggestions would be helpful and very much appreciated!! thank you :)

Claire,
You will have to start with a cleanse to at least an orange. Condition the heck out of it with a botanical treatment...
It looks as if the base is a 6 and dimension is a level 8...

Give me the information I need:
texture, type and density
Desired level
Desired tone (what do you want to see reflecting is it a YO, OR etc...)

Make sure you want to cleanse first... Then let's play!

Hi Lupe,

I've been working with Aveda since I left beauty school in the beginning of 05. I dont even remember how to use whatever we used in school! Anyhow, I'm leaving the salon I have been working for (whom of which I still love dearly) but will be working at a booth rental salon. They do not use Aveda and that alone made me so iffy about even considering changing salons. What do I do?? I dont want to step outside my Aveda color world. I've come a long way and love taking risk with all the pure tones! Do you know if there is a way to be able to order Aveda to where I move? Or am I just out of luck?

Thanks a lot for your time!

Tee,

SO sad to loose you from the "Aveda world". Unfortunately unless you go to a Bumble salon or an Aveda salon you cannot get the color.

Is there a way where you could work out your situation with the salon you are currently at?

Thank you SO much for responding lupe I appreciate it so much, I will reply back first thing in the AM with all the info you need :)
Okay my texture is medium, density medium to fine, type wavy. My desired base level is a 6 but for dimension 8-9 sounds great, I want to see Y/O but I naturally have warmth in my hair.. Let me know if you need any other information :) thanks lupe!!! Also the girl doing it just did a pure foiling class so if there's any techniques you want me to tell her let me know :) xoxo

Here is a formula for you! I am not sure about a placement without seeing your hair cut. Have her do what you think is best.

Keep us posted!!!

LUPE!!!!!!!! I'm soooo excited okay as soon as we do it I will let you know I'm sure it will be everything I want and more!! Sending love your way xoxo
When you "cleanse" to a yellow, are we talking about a soap cap?  How long would that take on a level 3?  and why not just apply enlightener like an allover color?  Is that the only way to get that look?  Aren't there any deep formulas that could get you there?

Jessica,

There is no fast way of getting around it.

Use a cleanse formula.

1 scoop of enlightener

30ml shampure

60ml developer

Hot water remove tone

10 volume  1 level of lift

20 volume 2level of lift

Lupe, can you please go over exactly how you do the cleanse?  Do you apply it to wet or dry hair? Do you apply it like a color and go section by section, and how long does it take on average to remove one level? Is Deep harder to remove than the FSP? And final question, do you always have to tone afterwards, or is it ever okay to leave it be after the soapcap...or will you always get brass since you are lightening? Thanks so much!!!
I apply it to wet hair like a color at the base, then I messsage it through the ends.  continue to work it while it works ( I like my hands in it).  I usually have to  tone after.  However, I use hairdetox and enlightner to warm a tone up on the hair, say for lowlights that seem a liitle dark or not warm enough. Actually, I do not use hair detox.  I use a 12% ph shamppoo, so that I get max opening of the cuticle.  I do not have to tone for that and now that there is 5 volume, hmmmmm.
