The more I use ELC and the Pastel pure tones, the more I love it! Lupe, in a post I read a few weeks ago, you were helping a girl with a guest who was using ELC and PB and it was still too warm. You recommended 40g ELC 4g Pastel B 4g Lvb. 80g Color…Continue

I need a good purple formula something really vibrant, keep in mind I am doing this on pale yellow hair, and the 20 grams of pure violet, and 20 grams of 5 volume is too dark and looks like Grimace, I need something that's going to pop against dark…Continue

Comment by Lupe Voss on Tuesday Niki,
That sounds like a great formula. I have not tried that smudging technique. Let's see who has some fun formulas for you... Anyone?

I would think the DOCT + FSP pure tones are more gentle to the hair.
Use the Liquid Activator.
Comment by Chelsea Chisholm on May 16, 2013 at 9:44am Hilarious, I thought that was funny! thank you for your feedback.
Question - what would be gentler on the hair and most comparable to a competitive colour line demi, no ammonia, providing 50%+ grey coverage. FSP with no NN or DOCT with NN. What is gentler on the hair?
thank you again, Chelsea

I am so sorry! I totally addressed you by your last name in the last post! we are in hair color Boot Camp.
oops!!!

Comment by Lupe Voss on May 15, 2013 at 10:10pm Chisholm,
Deposit Only Color Treatment was created for "grey blending" not "grey coverage". This category does not have ammonia, neither do their pure tones.
All the other categories, Full Spectrum™ Permanent, Full Spectrum™ Deep, & Pastel Blonde Series all have ammonia... Pure tones for these categories have ammonia in them as well.
If you use these permanent pure tones in the deposit only color treatment category you are making a permanent color.
Using the other categories pure tones will be more vibrant when using them in Deposit Only Color Treatment compared to using the Deposit Only Color Treatment pure tones because they will appear brighter.
I do not think it is wrong if the end result is what your guest wants.
If I am trying to get more grey blending than what DOCT offers, I do FSP without NN...It give me a blending effect.
I do not believe in wrong... As long as no one is bleeding or crying...
Comment by Chelsea Chisholm on May 14, 2013 at 11:26am Hi Lupe,
I was hoping to get your advice on intermixing the FS permanent line’s pastels, pure pigments, and NN with the Full Spectrum deposit-only line.
Do you recommend adding NN to your deposit-only formula to get additional grey blending with deposit-only?
Do you recommend adding a pure tone to your deposit-only formula to get additional vibrancy with deposit-only?
Thank you Chelsea
