Has anyone worked with both Aveda and Goldwell? I'm trying to figure out how they compare. Is one darker or lighter, true to tone or swatches. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Aveda Pure Violet is very red. I use the following formula on 75% grey: (20g) ON, (12g) Pure Violet, (3g) L-BB, (1g) D-BB with 20 Vol.

purple hair

I am looking for an Aveda color formula for this purple.  My client has hair that has been lifted to a 9N.

Andrea,

start a discussion and add the photo there. That is the best way to see the pic.  This way we can see what is up.

Hey lupe! I need to do some grey blending with foils for one of my clients. I have a picture of her hair now I just don't know how to send you it. I was looking for some grey formulas that you might know. I'm stumped.

Jason Sin,

Try 10N + 30 volume... It is amazing. The eraser of Direct Dyes!

Jason, Bring your brain!!!!  Pay extra attention to Texture, Type and Density. HCME is a class you can take over and over again. Once you master T,T&D come back and master the next segment.

I'm very excited you are going to take the class.

What would be a good way to remove Splat color? I had a client with a faded Splat red that wanted to get ride of the red...she just wanted to go darker so that was no problem. I did, however, got a small strand of her hair and did a strand test as she originally wanted to go lighter...but Enlightener doesn't lift it at all...would a 12N + 20vol formula work? She did lighten her hair a lot before applying the Splat color.
