"IPR (In Progress Review):

Once again I am having the great pleasure to be in the presence of such a great educator. Today's experience was amazing but just the beginning of what tomorrow will bring.

Everything you covered today is helping me get to the next level.

Special Regards, Liza"

P.S. I will add lastly that going to the Advanced Institute in NYC is a special experience I will always treasure. A great networking opportunity as well.
Thank You Liza,
You should be very proud of what you do, your work is beautiful!
The Aveda Academy is a great place to go to for sharing information. Sharing is what it is about.
It is a pleasure to grow and rejuvenate our industry. Beautiful.

I just did a class with Dylan Sit. She did some amazing razor cutting and also show us a different aproach to cutting behind the fingers. It was great. I'm also going to unplugged in nola, this weekend .
Went to a fantastic seminar a week ago. Nicholas was demonstrating some new cuts in Reno and he was fantastic. That man has been inspiring stylists for a long time and he still rocks. His system of cutting totally by growth pattern reminds me what being a great craftsman is all about.
Color Magic With Lupe Voss The most outside the box ever. I will never think of color the same. To be so inspired is a true testament to Lupe, her team and to Aveda. Highly recommend.
Susan, It was so great to work with you. I hope every day takes your color to the next level.

Went to the hardest, most challenging class ever in L.A.---The Sassoon Collection course. It was none stop---literally..They told us "forget about leaving for lunch" We worked from 9am til about 7:30pm coloring, cutting, dressing, make-up, photo shoot of the model we each did. Wow!! The discipline and knowledge was a real eye opener. Even though the looks were very extreme I have been able to use them on numerous guest(just not as extreme) even in my salon in Alabama.

We be returning in Sept for the mid season collection. Incredible talent and mind bending expansion going on in this course
Post pictures if you have them. Thx Tony

I may be slightly biased because I love the world of Aveda. I also have high expectations of anything that carries the Aveda name. Nonetheless, the Advanced Academy in New York has never let me down yet. I have taken a number of classes in New York and am heading back again today to collect more information, education and guidance to add to my hair arsenal. To a person, the instructors that I have taken classes with at this point have been well-appointed in their technical abilities and life experience. The environment of the school is truly Aveda, from the recycled materials used to the color palette. I would highly recommend the New York Advanced academy. Even in a recession an artist needs a place to continue to grow. The New York advanced academy is that place.
I took this class also with Michele! It was awesome! I learned a lot of easy updos without having to set the hair!! Awesome!

If you use Wella at your salon you probably have points accrued that can be applied to education at their studio in LA. I recently took foundations of long hairdressing with Michele. It was a small class and I enjoyed it very much because she basically asked us each our concerns and questions and answered them all in a very hands on creative yet productive way. Overall is was simple, convenient and I was surprised to learn some techniques and tricks I had never thought of.
I left inspired until my tire blew out on the 405 south in the midst of evening traffic.
Just completed day 5 of ABC cutting at Vidal Sassoon Santa Monica, Ca. There are many reasons that I would definitely recommend this course; 1. Location - Santa Monica has perfect weather, close to LAX airport, the academy is just a couple of blocks from the beach and just off the third street Promenade in case you love to shop.

2. Great people - There were work-shoppers from as far away as Australia, with experience levels from assistants to 25 years in the business, and the instructors are truly some of the best in the business and they love to cut hair! 3. The curriculum - theory is presented in a way that keeps you interested, mixed with plenty of demos, and followed up with hands-on workshops on live models. They provide a packet in which you essentially fill in, to create your own copy of their curriculum!

4. Results - I am a very confident and competent instructor, and I learned a lot about the nuances of placing refined shapes on bone structure. My models were great, and open to change. BEFORE

5. Sooner or later everyone trains with SASSOON! I am so glad that I took the time out for myself to do this workshop, and I encourage everyone in the industry to do the same! Thanks Traci, Tina, Lucas, Armand, Sally, Don, Julian, Wayne, Steven, Lola, and Daisy, for a great week! See you again soon.
